Scotlands Golf Holidays was created by Barry Chapman, an Australian, who travelled to Scotland every year for 12 years to play golf before moving full time to Scotland five years ago to live in North Berwick. 

As a keen golfer Barry chose North Berwick for three reasons :-

1. The weather, it enjoys the driest climate in Scotland with only 16 inches of rain per year.

2. The Golf – an unparalleled selection of great links courses steeped in history including Muirfield North Berwick, Gullane and Dunbar all in close proximity.

3. The lifestyle of an unspoilt seaside village only 35 minutes from the heart of one of the worlds great cultural cities - Edinburgh.

The inspiration for Scotland's Golf Holidays came after talking to a number of Australian friends who had taken the bus tour of Scotland’s Golf courses. After 14 days of travelling almost every day they were less than enthusiastic to do it again having paid a substantial sum for the “pleasure” of being subjected to bad weather which will play a role in any scottish golfing holiday especially when you are locked in to prearranged dates.

Knowing where and when to play because of the weather is part of our expertise. Flexibility is the key.

Scotlands Golf Holidays staff live here and play all year round on all the courses you see on this site either socially or in Club and Inter Club competitions. This means we can offer you not just a local view but on the spot assistance and service.

Scotland's Golf Holidays organised and provided accommodation for many of the top senior golfers from the USA and Europe who played in the Senior British Open at Muirfield. They included Tom Kite, Craig Stadler, Chip Beck, John Bland and Wayne Grady.
